On 27 February 2001, Beyoncé Knowles was interviewed on the Brit Awards red carpet along with her Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. The three singers were thrown a curveball by ITN's Jon Gilbert, who took the opportunity to ask their thoughts about the foot and mouth epidemic that was devastating Britain's livestock at the time.
