Unprecedented amounts of wealth, fame, influence, and opportunities have enticed many young people to pursue the life of a social media influencer. Many people wonder why social media and social media influencing have become so popular with Millenials, Gen Z, and the younger generation. Why do many younger generations stream, make YouTube videos, or seek a career through social media?
In this video, I explain why many young people want to pursue social media as their career. I start with a brief history of influencer marketing, then transition into how social media influencer marketing became popular. I offer some reasons why Gen Z wants to become a social media influencer, and I finish by offering my advice to younger generations wishing to pursue a career online.

If social media or content creation is your passion, please pursue it. However, don't think you don't need to go to school or work. Maybe you will get lucky, break out, and reach internet stardom, or perhaps you will not. Either way, it doesn't matter; there are other ways to be "successful" in your life, and you must find what it may be.
