Taylor Swift was the lucky winner of the Favorite Country Artist award, but had to deal with some familiar feelings when she went on stage to accept.
Newsroom actress Olivia Munn presented Swift with the award, and joked that the song was actually written about her.
So when Taylor hopped up on stage and went to grab the award, Olivia wouldn't hand it over.
As Olivia clutched the beautiful, glass crystal sculpture a little too tightly, Taylor deadpanned, "This always happens" obviously referring to the infamous 2009 MTV VMA incident, when Kanye West stole Taylor's thunder, and took over her acceptance speech.
It seemed to be all in good fun though—Olivia eventually stepped away so Taylor could rightfully accept her award, and thank the loyal fans who named her their favorite country artist.
And even though the crowd seemed a little confused by the comedy bit, Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine certainly enjoyed it.
When he accepted the next award on behalf on Maroon 5 for winning Favorite Band, he said, "Taylor Swift was super charming. I was trying to think of something to say and it's not happening. She said, 'This always happens.' That's genius, by the way. Damn you, Swift!"
So take it to the comments and let me know if you think Olivia's joke was funny, or if you think it got a bit awkward...
