He started playing golf as a toddler and always seemed destined for greatness. But before all of the major championships and countless accolades, Tiger Woods was winning the Silver Medal at The Open Championship.

In 1996, a fresh-faced Tiger came to The 125th Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes as a Low Amateur hoping to make his mark on the tournament. And he did just that!

The 20-year-old finished tied for 22nd, winning the Silver Medal and turning pro just six weeks later.

From there he went on to win three Claret Jugs, in 2000, 2005 & 2006.

Relive his journey from hot prospect to golfing icon in the latest edition of Star of Silver.
