Selena Gomez is reacting to the fact that she is one of the most followed people on social media. The "Single Soon" singer joined the Universal Music Group and Thrive Global’s Music & Health Conference on September 19 and got candid about being the most followed woman on the internet. “I’ve never really cared about that stuff. I suppose I’m grateful for the platform, and I would love to continue to use it for what I’m able to do, but numbers are just numbers," she said in a video obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. Selena, who boasts more than 429 million followers on Instagram alone, joined Universal Music Group CEO Sir Lucian Grainge and Thrive Global CEO Arianna Huffington on stage at the event and was vulnerable about the weight of the power she holds online. "It can be a little heavy. I feel for people, and I think that’s what kind of keeps me in check, to be honest," she added according to the outlet. "I think I can be a little reckless with my emotions and having conversations with young people, women who are going through divorces or going through chemo — it’s not just about me, and I’m fully aware of that. I will just always cherish it. It’s a big responsibility, though. It’s a little scary."
