This legendary rock band is at home at The Venetian Theatre.
Styx is set to return to the venue for the seventh consecutive year, five nights from Jan. 29-30 and Feb. 3, 5 and 6. All shows are set for 8:30 p.m., tickets are on sale 10 a.m. PT at Ticketmaster.com, VenetianLasVegas.com or any Venetian box office.
Styx is keeping its annual streak alive at The Venetian Theatre with this set of dates. But the “Blue Collar Man” rockers premiered at the venue in a January 2017, alongside ex-Eagles rocker Don Felder.
The band has sold more than 54 million albums worldwide. “Paradise Theater” is the top seller with nearly 3.2 million sales. Its most recent lineup is Tommy Shaw, brothers Terry and Lawrence Gowan, James “J.Y.” Young, original bassist Chuck Panozzo (who has plays select segments in the live show), longtime drummer Todd Sucherman and guitarist/vocalist Will Evankovich.
In an interview ahead of the Styx’ most recent run in January, Shaw said this is still a tight unit.
“The music bonds us and brings us all together, and we love it,” the guitarist-vocalist who joined Styx some 50 years ago. “It don’t want to call Styx a brand, because it’s always been a bunch of guys who are kind of there, who wouldn’t know what else to do but make music. Maybe J.Y would call it a brand (laughs) because he’s got a big brain.
“But yeah, Styx is a band. We just love to play, we love to write, we love to record and we love to do things like we’re doing now.”
